Family Life Assistant

Tamassee Hope Village is seeking a compassionate, organized, and mission-driven Family Life Assistant to join our faith-based team. In this rewarding role, you will provide hands-on support to mothers and children in our residential recovery program by helping strengthen families, promoting healthy parenting, and ensuring children have the resources they need to thrive.
Position Summary: This position is responsible for supporting the Parenting Team in every facet of the overall planning and implementation of a varied activity program designed to meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of our residents. Successful candidates must be detail oriented and passionate about working with women, their children and life recovery, as well as understand the importance of confidentiality and resident rights. This position is responsible for supporting the recovery program with family life operations and for enforcing family life policies and procedures. The overall goal is to provide a long-term, residential, and therapeutic community for women and their children to break adverse cycles and rebuild their families.
Responsibilities include coordinating appointments and transportation, assisting with family outings and parenting activities, supporting child supervision, maintaining children's essential needs and records, assisting with meal planning and grocery shopping, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to provide exceptional care. The position also supports aftercare services, family visitation, parenting education, and other program initiatives that foster healing and stability.

Requirements
Associate or bachelor’s degree in social work, Human Services, or a related field preferred.
A minimum of 2 years’ work experience directly with target population with emphasis on family systems. Prior experience in the substance use field is highly desired to include recovery advocacy experience, and/or peer support certification. Applicants in recovery must demonstrate a minimum of three (3) years of continuous recovery, with appropriate monitoring protocols as applicable. Preference will be given to candidates with five (5) years of continuous recovery.
Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws related to programming.
Must have a valid SC Driver’s License with a clean motor vehicle record.
Able to (or able to learn to) drive 15 passenger vans/s and minibuses.
Flexibility to work extended program hours, especially as seasons and service needs change.
Must have excellent Interpersonal Skills and Collaborative Skills.
Understanding of Cultural Competency.
