    Summer Jazz Camp June 13-17

This June, Southern Wesleyan University will host the 16th annual SWU Summer Jazz Experience at Central.

Incredible clinicians in a great setting make the camp a friendly yet fulfilling and fast paced three days. An in-studio recording session, live "club" performances, and great concerts by the clinicians allow students to become very involved in all aspects of the jazz combo.

2017 Featured Clinicians will include Jon Thornton (trumpet), Rick Simerly (trombone), Kevin Jones (trombone and sax), Michael D'Angelo (drums), Doug Norwine and Chris Mitchell (sax), Jonathan Lovett (piano), Matt Dingledine (guitar) and David Katillus (bass).

For details and to register online, visit swu.edu/jazzcamp. Or, contact Professor Greg Day at 864-650-8987 or gdayswu@gmail.com.

During WWII, six women gather at the church to roll bandages and plan the church's 75th anniversary. Overseeing things is Edith, the pastor's wise-cracking wife who dispenses Red Cross smocks and witty repartee to Luby, whose son is fighting in the Pacific; Mae Ellen, the church's rebellious organist who wants to quit but hasn't the courage; Olene, who dreams of a career in Hollywood; Sammy, a shy newcomer with a secret; and Vera, an influential Baptist with a secret of her own. When Luby learns her son has been wounded, she confounds the others by blaming the vulnerable Sammy.Twenty-five years later, our "First Baptist Six" reunite. Back to reconcile with Luby - whose son died of his wounds - is Sammy, whose own son is now in Vietnam; and Olene, whose flashy show business career will set the town on its ear. There to welcome them are Vera, her secret still safe; Mae Ellen, still rebellious and still looking for an escape; and Edith, whose biggest challenge isn't the church's upcoming centennial but revelations that shake relationships formed over a quarter of a century. With humor and pathos, these six very different women find comfort, forgiveness and redemption in each other.

    SolarEclipseFest 2017

    August 21, 2017

To better serve our loyal customers, Chattooga Belle Farm has revised the details of our upcoming SOLAR ECLIPSE FEST 2017. By lowering our price, we feel it will make the farm more accessible for those who are desiring a unique, relaxing atmosphere to view the eclipse. As the Line of Totality for the eclipse will intersect through much of South Carolina, there will be many opportunities to view it, but we feel (and if you've ever visited the farm there's no doubt you do too) that with our breathtaking vista view of the Blue Ridge Mountains, there's no better place on Earth to experience this once in a lifetime event.

To our customers who have already purchased tickets at full price, we are offering your choice of a "VIP Package" (which includes ticket, viewing glasses, t-shirt, and $10 meal voucher) or a partial refund.

We are excited about the many regional bands, artists, and vendors who will be joining us and are continuing to accept vendor application through May.
