    The Oconee County Chamber of Commerce strives to represent, advocate, and encourage the development of our businesses and our community by implementing responsible economic development, business retention and promoting tourism programs while being a positive liaison between business and government.  The Chamber is the largest and one of the most highly respected organization of businesses in Oconee County.


    • Welcomes and directs visitors by greeting them, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries.
    • Maintains safe and clean reception area.
    • Assists in reservation of properties managed by the Chamber.
    • Assists with Marketing and Recruiting of new members.
    • Assists with social media for the Chamber.
    • Assist with office inventory management and ordering, ensuring supplies for daily office functions are readily available.
    • Assist in catering and planning of events for members, award programs, events and other special occasions as needed.
    • Assist with maintaining monthly reports when needed.
    • Perform other duties as requested.

     Qualifications Required:  Part-time 20 hours a week.  Must have high school diploma or equivalent. Experience in clerical related fields. Must have good communication and people skills. Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Publisher and other office related software.

    Core Duties and Tasks • Promote office efficiency • Manage databases of historic services and tourism contacts • Receive and file incoming letters, documents, and invoices • Supply and manage office equipment and machines • Answer phones, welcome and assist visitors relating to work • Conduct entry interviews and maintain Visitor Center and Research Library statistics and records • Manage office bills and receipts, entering all financial transactions in QuickBooks • Maintain supplies, record and monitor expenses, and coordinate deliveries • Assist in maintaining financial records and submitting reports to funding agencies • Logistic support for Museum and Events as assigned by Executive Director • Have working knowledge of Research Library inventory and guidelines for use of Archives • Have working knowledge of available brochures, tourism product in region, and points of interest across the state of South Carolina • Assist in updating Tourism website and Calendar • Serve as recording Secretary for Commission meetings • Ensure weekly computer backup for all computers • Maintain a safe, tidy, safe and secure work environment • Maintain a clean and organized workspace • Other tasks or duties as assigned by Executive Director

    Skills and Abilities Required • Good command of computer skills including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint • Research and problem solving skills • Able to give accurate written or verbal directions

    Training and Experience • Associate degree OR one year of experience in related field • MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, • QuickBooks experience required • Experience with Apple computer platforms preferred

    Job Description

    Whetstone Academy is seeking Full Time and Part Time PRN (as needed) Residential Life Staff.

    Whetstone Academy is a therapeutic boarding school for 10-15 year old boys located in Mountain Rest within minutes of the Chattooga River.  We offer health, dental, and vision insurance for full time positions.  We also offer vacation, sick, and personal days for full time positions.

    Work Schedule:
    Full Time: Monday - Friday, 2:30 pm - 10 pm

                      Weekend, All Day

    PRN: As needed 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or weekend shifts; Transports to doctor, dentist, airport, etc.

    Essential Job Duties:
    1. Supervision of students and daily routine.
    2. Participation in activities with students.
    3. Proper role-modeling.
    4. Maintaining appropriate boundaries with students and staff.
    5. Communicate clearly with team members.
    6. Log student behavior daily.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    1. Associates Degree in Psychology, Human Services, Education, or similar field.
    2. One year experience working in residential setting.
    3. CPR/1st Aid Certified.
    4. Medication administration.

    1. Ability to set/maintain firm boundaries.
    2. Participate in activities with students.
    3. Follow daily agenda/schedule.
